Lowell is one of America’s first great mill cities, built where the Concord River meets the Merrimack, and its canals and brick mills are now part of Lowell National Historical Park. The neighborhoods around downtown tell that story too. Triple-deckers and multi-families fill the Acre, Centralville, Lower Highlands and Back Central, Victorians line streets in Belvidere and the Highlands, and Pawtucketville and the outer neighborhoods have plenty of capes, ranches and colonials.

Castle “The Window People” of Massachusetts helps Lowell homeowners and property owners with energy-efficient vinyl windows and new entry, patio sliding and storm doors. Every job is backed by the Castle Lifetime Guarantee.

Why Lowell Homeowners Replace Their Windows

Many of Lowell’s homes are more than a century old, and their windows show it: sashes painted shut, ropes and weights that stopped working long ago, storm panels that rattle, and glass that frosts over on the inside in January. Winds coming off the rivers make every gap worse.

Triple-deckers and multi-families bring their own challenges. Each floor usually has the same window layout, so there are a lot of openings to keep sealed, and the upper floors take the brunt of the wind. Owners who live on one floor and rent the others often replace one unit at a time, and we’re happy to plan a project that way. Newer homes have problems too, with builder-grade windows that fog between the panes or no longer lock tight.

Window Styles We Install in Lowell

We install vinyl windows only. Vinyl never needs scraping or painting, won’t rot or peel, and holds up to Merrimack Valley winters. ENERGY STAR certified options are available depending on the package you choose.

Entry, Patio Sliding & Storm Doors

A triple-decker can have several exterior doors, from the front entry to the back porch stairs, and every one of them is a place for cold air and water to get in. We replace worn doors with new steel entry doors, smooth-gliding patio sliding doors and storm doors. Each door is measured to its opening and finished with fresh weatherstripping and a tight threshold.

How We Install

We start with a free in-home estimate. We measure every opening, check the condition of each frame and walk you through your options with no pressure.

Most of our work is insert replacement. We remove the old sashes, set a new vinyl window into the existing frame and keep your interior and exterior trim in place. That matters in older Lowell homes, where the original trim is often part of the charm. If an old frame is rotted or damaged, we’ll recommend full-frame replacement for that opening. Most jobs are finished in one day, and we clean up before we leave.

Serving Lowell and Nearby Towns

We work in every Lowell neighborhood and in the towns around the city, including Chelmsford, Dracut, Tewksbury, Billerica and Tyngsborough. Lowell is part of our Merrimack Valley region. Browse all areas we serve.

Lowell Window Replacement FAQ

Do you replace windows in triple-deckers?

Yes. We can do a whole building at once or one floor at a time, which works well when each unit is on its own schedule. We’ll help you plan the order.

Can you keep the original trim on my older home?

In most cases, yes. Most of our installs are inserts that keep your existing trim. We only recommend full-frame replacement when an old frame is damaged.

How long does the job take?

Most jobs finish in one day. Larger homes and multi-family buildings can take longer, and we’ll give you a clear schedule at your estimate.

Do you replace doors too?

Yes. We install steel entry doors, patio sliding doors and storm doors, and many owners do doors and windows in one project.
