*ENERGY STAR Version 7.0 Northern-zone criteria for windows: U-factor ≤ 0.22 with SHGC ≥ 0.17 (or an equivalent-energy option of U-factor 0.23–0.26 with a higher SHGC), and air leakage ≤ 0.3 cfm/ft². Massachusetts is in the Northern zone. Sources: ENERGY STAR window criteria, climate zone map. ENERGY STAR certified options are available; ask which models are certified when we quote. Castle offers double-pane and triple-pane glass with argon or krypton gas fill. Every tier includes a triple-layer silver Low-E coating that blocks about 95% of the sun’s UV rays and much of its heat while still letting daylight through. Castle window frames and sashes are fusion-welded at the corners (heat-fused into one permanent joint instead of screwed together) and ordered with foam-filled frame and sash chambers. Your quote lists the exact package and its NFRC label numbers.

Installation

We install it like it has to last forever.

That’s our intent, and the reason we can offer the Castle Lifetime Guarantee. Many companies don’t say much about how they install. We do: each step, and why it matters.

Guarantee vs. warranty

A warranty covers a product. Our guarantee covers your whole job.

They sound alike, but they are different promises. Here’s the plain-English difference.

A typical product warrantyThe Castle Lifetime Guarantee
Who makes the promiseUsually the product manufacturerCastle, the company that sold and installed it
What it coversOften the product only, as limited by the fine printThe whole job: anything that goes wrong with the window or door, install-related or a manufacturing defect or failure
Labor to fix itMany warranties leave labor out or limit it to a short periodIncluded
Accidental glass breakageOften excluded or limitedIncluded
When you sell your homeSome transfer only with paperwork or a fee; some don’t transferTransfers to the new owner
Who you callThe manufacturer, then whoever will do the repairCastle

Warranty terms vary a lot from company to company, so always read the written document. ENERGY STAR’s buying tips point out that the product, the glass seal and the installation are often covered by separate warranties with different time periods, and that installation coverage is typically the shortest.[source]

Peace of mind

The Castle Lifetime Guarantee

If anything goes wrong with a window or door we install, whether it’s install-related or a manufacturing defect or failure, the Castle Lifetime Guarantee covers it. That includes accidental glass breakage, and it transfers to the new owner if you sell your home.
